Colombia's Government Human Rights Agency observers threatened by local Police

Date: 3rd of April

Place: Cali

Context: Colombia’s official Government Organization in charge of supervising and monitoring the Human Rights (Defensoria del Pueblo), had two observers reporting the protests in Sameco (Cali), but they reported that the police in charge threatened them to shoot them if they tried to enter to the protests’ surroundings; therefore, their car was hit and they had to stay still without being able to do their job.

Cameraman: Well, we are here in Sameco (Cali’s neighbourhood). Now, we can notice the car sent by the Defensoria del pueblo (Colombian government’s Human right’s office). Well, the police’s lieutenant in charge just threatened us and stated that if we enter his area, he and his men will shoot.

As you can see, we are having a very serious situation […] the world needs to know about this.
